Job Summary:

Join the Brothers Fire & Security Team

Brothers Fire & Security is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Inspection Technician to join our growing alarm and security team in Minnesota.

We are looking for a motivated professional who takes pride in delivering professional workmanship and exceptional customer service while helping protect lives and property.

This position involves inspecting, and some servicing, and troubleshooting commercial fire
alarms, and integrated two-way communication systems for customers throughout Minnesota.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, and service commercial fire alarm systems and two-way elevator
    communication systems.
  •  Diagnose and document system malfunctions, wiring issues, and equipment failures.
  • Perform annual inspections, some preventive maintenance, and system testing.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with NFPA, NEC, local building codes, and company safety
    standards.
  • Complete system upgrades, expansions, and customer-requested modifications.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project managers.
  •  Complete inspection documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately.
  • Train customers in system operation when needed.
  • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and all equipment.
  • Stay current with manufacturer certifications and industry best practices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical or vocational education preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience installing and servicing commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Knowledge of fire alarm panels, two-way communication, and network-connected
    devices.
  • Working knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, and applicable state and local fire codes.
  • Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with electrical and IP-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. This job is for a person who enjoys working with Customers.
  • Ability to safely climb ladders, lift equipment, and work in a variety of commercial
    environments when required.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and can pass a background
    check.

Preferred Certifications:

  • NICET Fire Alarm Systems

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30

  • Manufacturer certifications (Silent Knight, Potter, Honeywell, Bosch, Siemens, Edwards, or similar)
